Boston’s Calling

Hi, hello, howdy- It has been forever and a day since I’ve posted. My apologies. I’ve been busy with work (shameless plug for my shoe and denim articles) and sleep… because that’s really all I’ve had time for, despite my recent trip back to Boston.

They say you can’t go home again. But, what if you have multiple homes? Can you not return to any of them once you leave? If so, what is the statute of limitations on this? I have so many questions. Anywho, I digress.

I went back to Beantown for one of my best friend’s birthday’s (here’s to you Jen!), and realized that this was my first time returning since I graduated in May. A place I called home for upwards of four years of my life, where some of my best college friends still reside, a place that shaped me, brought me up away from home for the first time. A place that stole my ability to determine what truly is cold (think Boston froze that part of me).

Moral of- the city looked the same as it did the day I left it back in May. Four months later and sure, stores have closed and opened, rain eroded some of the brick and grass, people came and went, but honestly, it was the same- but completely different. Because I am different, just like it felt when I went home to Florida for Thanksgiving my first year of college.

Everything looked the same, but I was different.

So, I say you can go home again, just be sure to realize that home is a feeling, not a place.

On a completely different note, while I was back in Boston I saw my fav photog and friend, Cara. So, you know what that means… hope you enjoy the mini photoshoot below.
