Fashionable Friend of the Month: Tiffany

Have you ever looked around and realized that you’re surrounded by beautiful people? Maybe it’s just the fact that my friends are all gorgeous, on the inside and out (obvi), but I think that these kids are some of the best the world has to offer.

Not to mention some of their killer style; it’s been a while since I shifted focus and put the spotlight on them and their outfits. See for yourself this week with Tiffany.

Her timeless silhouettes combined with edgy prints and pops of color are what make Tiffany’s style more precious than a Tiffany’s little blue box. Not to mention her flawless makeup and attention to accessories. I mean check out that bag and sunglasses! Le sigh. This is real this is Tiffany, and she’s pretty damn fabulous if you ask me.

Check out her two looks below, and even more photos at the end of the post.

Florida Fashion: Lauren Miley

Every state has a different take on winter style. As a Florida born gal, (why did I just say gal?) growing up in the *freezing* 50 degree winters, I thought I knew how to dress for the cold.

I moved to Boston 18 years later, and basically froze (my heart- jk lol, my hair, you name it, I froze it). But for those of you reading this blog in Florida, I thought, hey I have friends who are cute and keep it fresh down here below the Mason Dixon Line, where our cold fronts consist of a shivery 55 degrees.

Enter my friend Lauren, a 22-year-old senior at Florida Southern College, nicknamed ‘Smilez’ because of her last name… and her, well, smiling.

While Lauren was born in Illinois, she’s lived in the Sunshine State for the last six years. After Lauren raked in some Christmas clothing goodies, we decided a photo shoot was in order.

Please sit back with some hot coco if you’re up North, and some sunscreen if you’re in Florida, and enjoy these sunny pics I took of one of my best friends at Mandarin Park in good old Jacksonville, Florida.

And no, we did not intend this photo shoot to be a Ray Ban add, just a happy bonus.

2016.

Shady Ladies

Holy mother of God how can it be 2016?! You know what this means… this is the end of the beginning. Or perhaps just a new beginning altogether. My classmates and I, being the class of 2016, will (hopefully) receive our diplomas in a few short months. I am turning 22 in six weeks. I know I say this all the time, and I am somewhat of a broken record when it comes to certain things, but I honestly have no idea where the time went.

As I sit here, still in Florida, it’s easy for me to lose count of the days and just succumb to the every day life of a college student on winter break, free of responsibilities and commitments. I can feel the death stares from the post-grad readers. Don’t hate the playa hate the game.

Now that it is officially 2016, the only thing I can think about is crossing that Scarlet and White stage in May with a diploma from Boston University. I’m terrified, excited, exhilarated and all around amazed at how quickly the last four years flew by.

From an early age I never had to worry about what my next step would be, other than finishing my college applications and hoping I got into my top choice schools (#blessed). Now, I wake up in the morning and wonder if I’ll get a job come May, find a place to live and be happy. Because in the end, isn’t that the main goal? Happiness?

The prospect of leaving my friends and moving terrifies me. I have to keep reminding myself that I’ve already done that once. I’ve moved 1,100 miles. I left my friends in Florida and went off to add to my list of fellow loons I call my friends, in the hopes of finding new ones in Massachusetts. I’m a big believer in the idea that you have to leave your comfort zone in order to find yourself.

So what makes this next chapter any different than the equally scary ones before? I guess it’s the fact that nothing is certain. Wherever I end up, whomever I end up becoming, I know that the people in my life today played a considerable roll in helping me achieve whatever comes my way.

Enough of the seriousness. I guess 2016 already has my overactive brain on overdrive. I hope you and your loved ones rang in the new year in as much style and silliness as my friends and I did last night.

Land of the Scots, Home of the Brave(heart) with a Sprinkle of London and Paris

You take the high road and I’ll take the low road…. ugh love that song. I still have vivid memories of my parents and grandparents singing that to me throughout my younger years–enough of my adorable childhood.

Last weekend I spent a few days at a friend’s family’s home in Glasgow for the holidays. Obviously I had the best time (shoutout to Abby and Casey coming in clutch with the amazing Scottish family), but I also found Scotland one of the most breathtaking places in the world.

After climbing Arthur’s Seat, meandering through Edinburgh Castle, checking out Elephant’s Cafe (all you fellow Harry Potter nerds out there–that’s where J.K. Rowling wrote HP- holla), hitting up the modern museum and taking in Glasgow’s greatest sights tired me out, but was worth every step of the 10 miles we walked that day.

Check out some of the pics from the trip below!

As the trips wind down and my final 10 days appear at the doorstep of my overpriced posh pad in South Kensington, I’m forced to face the music, so to speak. I still have another 3 weeks left in Europe, but only a combined 5 days in England.

Don’t get me wrong, while I miss my friends and family from the States so much, London’s left an indent on my wallet and heart. I’ve met some of the most amazing people here, made some friends I hope to keep in touch with for quite some time. Ugh, don’t even get me started on the mems! These memories will just have to hold me over until my next hop skip across the pond.

Ok, enough of the bleery-eyed sentiments and onto the time I have left in Europe. Tomorrow I take a train to Paris, next week I take my finals, and then off to France and Italy.

It’s crazy how much this trip changed my outlook on life and people in general. If given the chance, and ability, go abroad. Do it– you know you want to.

Stay tuned for a Paris round-up and a teary cheers to London sometime next week!

Stay cool and beautiful peeps.

xoxo

Fashionable Friend of the Month: Ariella

Hi guys!

This month’s fashionable friend is one of my oldest (besties for 15 years!) and sassiest friends, Ariella. Laughing one of the highest pitch laughs, making fun of everyone (herself included), being feisty and fashionable constitute just a few of her favorite things. She also enjoys all things pugs and Kate Spade.

I hope you enjoy scrolling through her outfits and getting a glimpse of what I have to deal with all of the time–just kidding she’s a gem and I adore her.

Her fashion sense (in my so humble opinion) stems from an Audrey Hepburn meets Blaire Waldorf type of style, which just so happen to be two of my favorite fashion icons (yes I just said Blaire Waldorf is a fashion icon–judge me…#haterzgunnahate).

Anyways, I’m sending love and warm thoughts from sunny Florida, until I head over to London a week from tomorrow! AH!

Much love and stay warm!

XOXO
