Here’s Sam Peters‘ take on a Paris Fashion Week Rundown. Photos are from Instagram and Pinterest for legal reasons, sorry fam. Without further ado, I give you: Sam’s Top 5 Looks from Paris Fashion Week.
Fashion week hit the city of love last Tuesday, premiering an array of stunning avant-garde designs. Bold themes – including oversized shoulders and sheer materials that left little to the imagination – ensured every piece had a certain je ne sais quoi. From the esoteric to more accessible, here are my top five favorite looks that have graced the Paris runway thus far.
Snakeskin is in. Balmain illustrates that texture is the perfect way to kick of the spring/summer season. Opt for bold cutouts and multidimensional silhouettes (like this ensemble featuring a zip-up overlay) for a statement look that is sure to turn heads. *Note: funky tan lines may ensue.
Jacquemus brings us the very best of European couture, borrowing from a variety of cultural influences. This kimono-esque piece (with a daringly short hemline) is suitable for warmer temperatures, yet retains an element of dimensionality with loads of volume and structure. Paired with a wide-brimmed straw hat reminiscent of the gondolier, this ensemble is the stuff of any fashion-lovers dreams.
Who knew denim could look so fabulous? Off-white pairs a classic boyfriend jean with a peasant blouse for the perfect mix between laid back and luscious. Again, two-dimensional looks are the thing of the past, as high-impact volume takes center stage. To emulate this look, mirror the quintessential pinstripe look with a top that has either a bold ruffle detail, unique hemline or an attached necktie. 4. Rochas
Fashion weeks across the globe have taught us that tulle has a place in every woman’s closet. Following on the heels of Marchesa’s breathtaking designs showcased at NYFW, Rochas offers equally elegant looks for spring/summer. Vibrant hues and ruching detail give the dress ultimate aesthetic appeal, while tea-length hemlines paired with a chunky mule create the perfect mix of sophistication and whimsy.
There’s nothing I love more than a sleek jumpsuit. Saint Laurent revitalizes androgynous womenswear with this suit-inspired ensemble that makes getting dressed in the morning oh so simple. A plunging neckline gives the look that element of feminine flair, while a breathable construction offers comfort and dynamism. Worn with a classic pointed-toe pump, transition from day to night with an effortless power piece like the one seen here.
Stay tuned for a post sometime in the next week.
Stay classy, sassy and beautiful people!
