Fashionable Friend of the Month: Ariella

Hi guys!

This month’s fashionable friend is one of my oldest (besties for 15 years!) and sassiest friends, Ariella. Laughing one of the highest pitch laughs, making fun of everyone (herself included), being feisty and fashionable constitute just a few of her favorite things. She also enjoys all things pugs and Kate Spade.

I hope you enjoy scrolling through her outfits and getting a glimpse of what I have to deal with all of the time–just kidding she’s a gem and I adore her.

Her fashion sense (in my so humble opinion) stems from an Audrey Hepburn meets Blaire Waldorf type of style, which just so happen to be two of my favorite fashion icons (yes I just said Blaire Waldorf is a fashion icon–judge me…#haterzgunnahate).

Anyways, I’m sending love and warm thoughts from sunny Florida, until I head over to London a week from tomorrow! AH!

Much love and stay warm!

XOXO

Fashionable Friend of the Month: Sarah Buechler

I hope all is well with all of you lovely peeps. Sorry it’s been a while since the last post, with the school year underway and my internship, I’ve been uber busy. But enough about me.

This post centers on one of my most fashionable friends. Now that I’m back in the Bean, i’m reminded of my friends’  amazing fashion sense. This time, the Fashionable Friend of the Month is none other than the queen herself, Sarah Buechler. With her sassy stance and equally sass-tastic hair, Sarah seemed an obvious choice. Also, she’s one of my favorite people in the world.

Her hobbies include: Singing HSM songs with me while doing our Tyra super-model stomp down Comm Ave., all things fashion, watching Shaq youtube videos (I’m not kidding) and just being beautiful. Oh she’s smart too.

Sarah put together these 2 ensembles, from day to night, from casual to work, from work to the bar, she’s got ya covered.

“I get my fashion inspiration from different ‘looks’. I love choosing a style and basing an entire outfit around it. One day I may be ultra-feminine, the next day professional looking, the next a casual laid back style. There are so many different ways to dress, I can’t choose just one! My go-to would probably be described as old-fashioned girly with dresses and flats. But it all depends on what vibe I’m channeling!”

Girl, we are deff feeling those vibes. ‘Twerk it.

All items purchased from Madewell.

Wanna Be Like the Cool Kidz

Howdy y’all. So as the summer sun begins to set on these long hot days, I thought, why not share some of my favorite summer outfits? After a summer in the concrete jungle, I needed some cool clothes to cool off back home in this Florida heat. A gem of a friend, Jessica, took these pictures for me (some of which you may recognize from last week’s post). She’s totes talented and y’all should check her out for your next life event (bat-mitzvah, wedding, twister photo-shoot?). Here are some of my favorite outfits from my adventurous summer.

PSA: The tan legs seen later on are clearly not mine. You might want to wear sunglasses because it’s about to get bright up in hur- My family’s Eastern European give me a break.

Fashionable Friend of the Month: Barbara

I realized, I have gorgeous friends. Not only are they pretty (on the inside and out if I might add) but some can really put an outfit together. I use them for inspiration in my life, so I thought, why not let the world see what I see? Enjoy these pictures taken by another one of my gorgeous friends, who just so happens to be an extremely talented photographer. A link to her company’s Facebook page is listed at the bottom.

World, this is Barbara, or as I refer to her, Babs. Total model, right? Barbara’s style is very Free People meets Florida sunshine/prep. Barbara enjoys long walks on the beach, fishing and surfing (as I’m sure you can tell by her level of tan).

A Few of my Favorite Things

Working in the fashion industry is the dream. Well, to be more specific my and a couple of other millions of people’s dreams.
Interning for a fashion magazine this summer solidified my love for some of the finer things in life (letsbehonest, Who doesn’t wish they could own 30 pairs of Louboutins? Stop lying to yourself.)
So needless to say, here are a few of my favorite things:

1. Free People Sunglasses

Free People Abbey Road Sunglasses. $18 at Freepeople.com

Free People Abbey Road Sunglasses. $18 at Freepeople.com

As one of my friends so affectionately refers to her sunglasses,”Peon Protectors,” sunnies do more than shield eyes from the sun’s harmful rays. They also shield from people you don’t want to see, as well as people you don’t want to see you (if the frames are big enough). I am unhealthily obsessed with Free People Sunglasses. Since my mom purchased a pair on vacation for me last year, all of my sunglasses revolve around this frame shape. Yes, finding the perfect shape can be a struggle, and I know that some people believe themselves sunglass-tarded (don’t kill me, I know it’s not very PC), but there is a pair for any and every face shape. So take a deep breath, and prepare for a 90s shopping montage. You may be exhausted afterwords, but at least you will find the pair that work for you.

2.Sneakers

Available at Hm.com $17.95

All I do is walk walk walk no matter what. Ok, sorry, I had to. I love sneakers. I used to think that I wasn’t sporty enough to pull them off (which if any of you know me in the slightest, that is totally true), but now i’ve embraced my lack of athleticism as well as my inner sporty-spice. I love these H&m sneakers for their relatively cheap price, and their overall classiness. Black or white, patterned or velvet, your feet will thank you later. Trust me, as a fashion intern I do my fair share of walking around the city (one day I wore a pedometer and walked a whopping 8 miles… el oh el). Pair these bad boys with some peds and a sundress and you’re life-ready. Well, at least if there’s a puddle you’re ready, I’m not saying these shoes will solve all of your problems. I’m not a miracle worker people.

3. Lipstick

Revlon Super Lustrous Shine Lipstick in Fuchsia Shock

I love lipstick. Something about swiping the stuff across my lips and creating the perfect contrast against my embarrassingly white skin gives me the boost of confidence I need to start my day. Reds are a go-to for me, but lately fuchsias and even pinks spark my interest. I love the cheap stuff I can buy at a convenience store. I’m a college student after-all, not trying to drop some tuition money on some YSL over here (as much as I wish I could, le sigh). Anywho, I love me some Revlon. The texture is a combination of creamy and barely-there that makes me want to lick my lips- which I do not recommend. No one wants lipstick on their teeth. Buyer-beware.

4. The perfect Tote

Available on the new and improved H&M online store for $39.95.

Few things say more about a girl than the bag she carries. If Carry Bradshaw taught me anything, it is all about the accessories. I love this tote because it has enough room for your laptop, a zipper enclosure that helps protect your valuables, and keeps everything in your bag during a bumpy subway ride.  The classic navy and cream pair makes this tote easy to wear with any outfit.

5. Evil Eye Bracelet

This was a struggle to find online. I found this on Asos.com, but Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales should have it in store.

This was a 20th birthday gift from my parents. I wear it everyday and it’s become a sort of charm for me. I’m neither superstitious nor religious, but sometimes I think that perhaps it does ward off some evil (obviously the bracelet didn’t know that the guy in the bar was a skeez, but hey it’s a happy coincidence). Other than the bracelet’s obvious super powers, the simple design and sparkle ranks this number 5 on my list of favorite things.

I hope you enjoyed some of my favorite things! Let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions for my next post. Happy shopping and stay out of the heat ladies and gents! -XOXO Gossip Girl.

Just kidding its just me.
